Beam Expander
Beam expander is an optical system consisting of two or more elements that can change the size and divergence properties of a beam of light. Beam expanders can be used for a variety of purposes: by expanding a beam of light and then focusing it, a smaller focal point can be obtained. Beam expanders can improve the collimation characteristics of the beam. They can also be used to reduce the diameter of light beams in acousto-optic or electro-optic modulators. The spatial filter and beam expander are used together to make the energy distribution of the asymmetrical spot more symmetrical and more uniform.
